The afternoon light is streaming in and the cocktail bar is close and within reach. I'm looking forward to a glass of Proseco or a vodka fizz... Her ice bucket is a beautiful sterling silver Trophy cup. I have to remember to ask her about this. Did Allen win something? Did she?
All my thoughts melt away and the conversation is lively this afternnon. I don't think we even mentioned politics. Or did we? maybe so- i'm just so busy looking at everything and appreciating the beauty of friends, cocktails and nature to notice anything controversial. And anyway, who isn't amused by this years politics?!
We slowly work up an appetite to have a picnic dinner. Sylvia's grilling some brats and burgers. Yum! I've made a lovely blueberry pie... and yes, let's eat!
Our dinner provides another lovely chance for me to take pictures of food. I'm crazy about food, I realize, to eat as well as to photograph. You'd almost think that I weighed 300 lbs. - but, i don't. So there!!!
See what I mean? Food orgy pictures.
And yes, it was a Independence day delight! But, then again, it's always wonderful to be with my friends, my family members and great food in an amazing setting. Thank you Sylvia and Allen for hosting such a lovely party!!
