I’m a softie for farmhouses. And, I’m not too picky either. They can have a barn, a garden, flowers or endless acres of vegetables- or not. But, one thing that pulls me to them is their unmistakable charm.
This one particular farmhouse is so special…
I have the great fortune of doing some location work for AirBnB. I’m photographing their most beautiful properties for short term rental all around the Northern Michigan area. I’ve seen some really amazing properties of all kinds; condos, single family homes, downstairs quarters, urban lofts and my favorite; farmhouses! And farm houses, lots of remodeled farmhouses that have a very typical Northern Michigan charm. They are just wonderful. And I would highly recommend logging into the AirBNB ap and scrolling over to the AirBNB plus site and looking at all of the fabulous properties that there are in northern Michigan.
This wonderful property, located in Leelanau County- is just a hop, skip and a jump from Traverse City.
The Warbler House is a two bedroom/ 5 bed, enchanting revamped farmhouse that would make a wonderful stay for anyone coming into the area for all of the festivals that Traverse City hosts, or even a quiet get away for a special something. Northern Migration is run by Marissa, a superhost for AirBNB. Marissa’s four farmhouses are listed with AirBNB. Each is unique. You can head over to Marissa’s listing here…
The story book stone house sits on 2 acres of farm land. The house is outfitted with hand selected mix of antique and mid-centur modern furnishings. The house does have some contemporary touches, but not too much. It is a farmhouse. But lovely in detail!
A feminist inspired PINK kitchen… what a great space!
Heading into the master bedroom is a delight. As you slowly round the corner the lovely bath is in the back of the room.
The bathroom is a two part bathroom, with a shower just adjacent to the bedroom and the lovely bathtub that is on a refinished porch, complete with a rock wall.
This was such a great farmhouse, complete with a barn. You’d be a short drive from Leland and also Lake Leelanau.
If you visit, let me know!

Do you wonder where those wine aromas come from? They start their journey as freewheeling organic compounds produced during the wine making process and are released when you swirl your wine in your glass. If you’re lucky, they’ll travel deep into your nasal passages, lodge themselves in your brain and start your sensory experience with wine!!
